Antarctic Ice Marathon 2009
Adventure marathoners and ultra athletes are always looking for the next big challenge. It could be a remote desert marathon, a high altitude mountain marathon or a jungle marathon. However, mainland Antarctica represents the last frontier, the final great wilderness to be conquered. And now adventure athletes like you can do it. Introducing the only footraces within the Antarctic Circle.... On December 12th, 2009, the fifth Antarctic Ice Marathon will take place at 80 Degrees South, just a few hundred miles from the South Pole at the foot of the Ellsworth Mountains. This race presents a truly formidable and genuine Antarctic challenge with underfoot conditions comprising snow and ice throughout, an average windchill temperature of minus 20C, and the possibility of strong Katabatic winds to contend with. Furthermore, the event takes place at an altitude of 3,000 feet. E-mail Deborah Smith at dsmith@travelexperts.com for details or to sign up.

Shark Feeding Expedition
Open Dates Freeport, Grand Bahama Shark Feeding Class. You might think that chain mail and scuba diving don't have much in common but you would be wrong. This is a unique experience, not merely diving with sharks but getting up close and very personal. Anyone can get into a shark cage and breath surface supplied air and watch sharks swim by. One might even bump the cage, what a thrill! But let's face it, that is so 20th century. If you know all the lines to Jaws, never miss a Shark Week on TV, and are as fascinated by these apex preditors as we are, you want to actually dive with them, not hide behind some aluminum bars, right? You will don chain mail armour, exactly the kind used by knights in years past. But you won't be heading out to do battle, you will be feeding sharks. If you complete the course which takes about 5 days, you will join an elite group of about 100 divers who are certified shark feeders. You can bet that story will trump anyone else's at your next party! Cost is $2,500 USD and does not include air fare. The tour fee includes lodging at Pelican Bay Resort and continental breakfast. You must be a certified open water diver with at least 100 dives and meet physical requirements. E-mail Deborah Smith at dsmith@travelexperts.com for details or to sign up.

The Final Frontier --Outer Space
TBA Outer Space. Space tourism is a new reality. Virgin Galactic, the world's first spaceline, will soon transport ordinary citizens into suborbital space before gliding them safely back down to earth. In fact, Virgin Galactic has already accepted reservations on the first flights to another world.
To book these seats Virgin Galactic turned to Virtuoso, the travel industry's foremost network of luxury travel advisors, and granted it exclusive North American rights to book these spaceflights. Wouldn't you like to be able to see Earth through a window previously reserved for astronauts? Contact me today to make your space tourism dreams become a reality Virgin Galactic is a company established by Richard Bransons Virgin Group to undertake the challenge of developing space tourism for everybody. It will own and operate privately built spaceships, modeled on the history-making SpaceShipOne craft. These spaceships will allow affordable sub-orbital space tourism for the first time in our history. Virgin Galactic's purpose is to develop and operate the world's first environmentally benign space launch system for people, payload and science. They will re-invest profits made to develop new and improved space flight technology that will reduce the cost and environmental impact of space exploration.
